Operating Procedures
1. The Centreplex provides the following services on an
exclusive basis. Contact the Event Operations Department
to obtain rate schedules or for further information on these
services. - Business Center - Electric Services, including
power and lighting - Food and Beverage Services - Utility
Services, including water - Coat Check
2. Audiovisual services provided in-house or by a recommended
contractor.
3. The Centreplex does not normally provide furniture and
equipment for exhibit booth use. All arrangements for exhibit
booth and lounge furniture should be made through a service
contractor.
4. House lighting, ventilation, heat and air conditioning
will be provided as required during open show hours, rehearsals
or special conditions. Energy conservation mandates reduced
lighting and ventilation during move-in and move-out periods.
5. Building signage, graphics, displays, rest rooms, elevators,
and similar features may not be visibly blocked in any manner,
nor may temporary signs or decorations be attached to permanent
building graphics.
6. An in-house electrician must perform all wiring and electrical
installation.
7. Animals and pets are not permitted in the building except
in conjunction with an authorized exhibit, display or performance,
or as an aid to the disabled.
8. Smoking is not allowed in the ballroom, meeting rooms
or any pre-function areas. Designated smoking areas are
established under the veranda outside the main Convention
Center entrance. Smoking is not allowed inside the main
arena; however, there are designated areas on the north
and south concourses.
Safety
1. Safety of all occupants of the Centreplex is of primary
concern. Any unsafe condition or activity should be reported
immediately to Centreplex Event OperationŐs personnel.
2. Basic Fire Code Regulations: All drapes, curtains, table
coverings, skirts, carpet or any materials used in exhibits
must be flame retardant. Fire house cabinets, fire extinguishers,
sprinklers, fire exit doors, routes of egress and any other
fire safety device must not be hidden, obstructed, or otherwise
disturbed. Crates, packing material, wooden boxes and other
highly combustible materials may not be stored in exhibit
halls, meeting rooms or fire exit areas. Vehicles on display
may have up to 1/2 tank full of fuel, but no more than 10
gallons of fuel. A locking gas cap must be installed or
the tank must be adequately sealed in an appropriate manner.
All battery cables must be disconnected to avoid potential
sparks. No vehicles should be moved during show hours. The
use of pyrotechnics and welding equipment, open flames or
smoke emitting material as a part of an exhibit or unusual
displays incorporating an unsafe amount of combustible materials
must be individually reviewed by Centreplex Event Operations
and a written, notarized permit must be received and approved
by the Bibb County Probate Court and the Macon-Bibb County
Fire Department 14 working days prior to the event.
3. Passenger elevators may not be used for freight including
hand trucks, floats and similar equipment. Please contact
Event Operations for instructions.
4. Hazardous work areas are defined as any area on the premises
where exhibits, equipment and freight are being handled,
such as loading dock areas, exhibit halls and service corridors.
Within these areas and throughout the premises, the following
guidelines will be strictly enforced: Absolutely no drinking
of alcoholic beverages. Possession or use of any illegal
or controlled substance of any kind is prohibited. No speeding
(over 5 M.P.H.) or reckless use of vehicles or equipment.
Access to fire exit doors and corridors shall be maintained
throughout move-in/move-out. Oil spills, loose or missing
floor box covers or any other visible safety hazard should
be reported immediately to the Centreplex Event Operations
Department. Utility panels, switchgear, fire hose cabinets,
standpipes, fire extinguishers and fire alarms must remain
visible and accessible at all times. No horseplay or misuse
of any equipment, etc.
Food Service
No food or beverage of any kind may be brought or delivered
into the building or the exterior grounds, parking areas,
truck docks, and drives constituting the premises without
prior written approval. |
